Claude Parent re-elected as Portsmouth School Board Chairman, Cardell Patillo elected as new Vice Chairman
PORTSMOUTH, Va. – On Thursday, Jan. 10, the School Board re-elected Claude Parent as Chairman of the Board during its annual organizational meeting.
Mr. Parent began serving on the board in 2011. Also, School Board members elected a new Vice Chairman, Cardell Patillo. He was nominated for the post by outgoing Vice Chair Costella Williams. Mr. Patillo began serving in 2014.
Both Mr. Parent and Mr. Patillo said they were honored to serve and would continue to work hard to support students and schools. They pledged to work collaboratively with board colleagues, city leaders and community members to move the school division forward.
These positions are chosen annually.
