PPS to continue virtual learning through December 2020

At the Oct. 8 meeting of the School Board of the City of Portsmouth, the Board voted to continue virtual learning for all students through the end of 2020. The last school day before winter break is Friday, Dec. 18.

The Board also voted to have students in prekindergarten through third grade begin a hybrid schedule after returning from winter break Monday, Jan. 4, 2021. All other grades (four through 12) will remain in full virtual learning as the division continues to monitor the COVID-19 positivity percent rate in the city and evaluate school mitigation procedures. The division will look to gradually expand the hybrid schedule to more grade levels as the second nine weeks progresses.

All students with special needs and English-Language Learners who have been brought in for in-person learning in the first nine weeks will continue to have in-person instruction provided for the second nine weeks.
