Churchland High School's Aziz Zahraoui has been named a 2019 Virginia state-level finalist for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST).
This prestigious award recognizes outstanding contributions as a teacher of mathematics in Virginia. As a state-level finalist, Zahraoui will be considered by a national selection committee. The national selection committee may select up to one state-level awardee in mathematics and one in science from each state or jurisdiction. The White House will announce the results of the national selection process.
For this achievement, Zahraoui will be honored by the Virginia Board of Education. At a Board meeting, he will receive a Board resolution saluting his accomplishment.
